The role of IVF in reducing infertility
A recent survey has revealed that approximately 46 percent of Indians are looking for medical assistance for giving birth to a child. The main causes of infertility are endometriosis and polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD). The blockage in the tube is the major problem in the pregnancy of patients with endometriosis. In some of the cases, the endometrial tissue is affected by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The patient who is unable to conceive is subjected to many immunological diagnoses, such as Mullerian inhibiting hormones FSH, LH Prolactin, Beta 2 glycoprotein and APS panel. If the patient shows a lower level of follicle stimulating hormone and a higher level of luteinising hormone, then the patient is considered to be at risk with endometriosis. If LH Prolactin is in lower level and FSH in a higher level, then the patient is suspected to have PCOD. The patients show a higher concentration of AMH, which is because of PCOD. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is also known as PCOD. It is one of the common causes of infertility.

Formation of fibroid cysts results in an abnormal menstrual cycle. The ovary is enlarged and it produces excessive amounts of androgen and oestrogenic hormones. The majority of women with PCOS who are unable to conceive with other treatments would be able to conceive with in vitro fertilisation (IVF), if they are less than 40 years of age. In IVF PCOS pregnancy, statistics shows 60% of the live birth rate per egg retrieval. The survival rate of the foetus is higher when compared to the previous decade. The artificial fertilisation will help in many of the infertile females or males to have a child. The surgical removal of pathologies through minimally invasive laparoscopy to preserve the fertility organs can make one get pregnant naturally. Some can also be resolved with surgery. In other cases, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is used in IVF cycle to overcome the issues with sperm quality. This shows that, IVF is the major remedy for endometriosis or PCOD caused infertility.
