Improved urine-based test for prostate cancer detection

An improved urine-based test called MiPS has been developed recently at University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center to detect the prostate cancer, including more aggressive forms. This test incorporates a combination of three specific markers, namely serum PSA, urine T2-ERG and urine PCA3 to predict the prostate cancer. It helps in providing personalised prostate-cancer risk assessment and avoiding unnecessary prostate biopsies.
