Lansoprazole - an anti-tuberculosis drug

Lansoprazole is a common drug that is used so far to treat and prevent heartburn, ulcer and excessive production of acid in the stomach. Researchers have identified this drug to be highly effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis too. The application of this old drug could open new opportunities in the treatment of tuberculosis.
