Ciliotherapy to reduce the severity of osteoarthritis
Bioengineers from Queen Mary University of London have shown that osteoarthritis can be reduced by a drug called lithium chloride by disrupting the length of the cells' antennae called primary cilia. Their study reveals that, manipulation of the structure of primary cilia may have therapeutic impact on not only osteoarthritis but also in diseases like inflammation and cancer.
