Scientists at Kerala Agricultural University developed saltwater-tolerant paddy
On most trendy research outcomes in this decade, scientists at the Rice research station of Kerala Agricultural University have witnessed the success of saltwater-tolerant paddy crops. This landmark of achievement is attempted after seven years of research which is the major challenge faced by the farmers. The technology is the introduction of SalTol gene from Pokkali (a rice variety) to the crop named Jyothi.
